The TP-Link Archer C64 AC1200 Wireless is TP-Link’s entry-level AC1200 Gigabit router, built for households that need dependable everyday Wi-Fi without paying for Wi-Fi 6 features they may not need yet.
Performance
Running on a 1.2 GHz MediaTek CPU, the C64 delivers combined speeds up to 1200 Mbps — 867 Mbps on the 5GHz band and 400 Mbps on 2.4GHz. That 2.4GHz speed is notably higher than the 300 Mbps most routers in this class offer, giving a real edge for everyday tasks like browsing, emails, and video calls on older or budget devices that stick to the 2.4GHz band.
Multi-device efficiency
MU-MIMO technology lets the router communicate with multiple devices at the same time rather than one after another, roughly doubling efficiency when several devices are active simultaneously useful for homes where phones, laptops, and smart TVs are all connected at once.
Coverage
Four external antennas plus Beamforming technology focus the wireless signal directly toward connected devices, giving more stable coverage throughout small to mid-sized homes.

Security
The C64 supports WPA3, TP-Link’s latest wireless security protocol, offering stronger protection against brute-force password attacks compared to the older WPA2 standard still common on budget routers.
Smart connection management
Intelligent Connection features Smart Connect and Airtime Fairness automatically direct devices to the less congested band and balance airtime usage, so no single device hogs the network.
Extra features
- EasyMesh-compatible for future whole-home mesh expansion
- AP Mode support to use the router as an access point
- Setup and management via the TP-Link Tether app
- Full Gigabit LAN ports for wired devices
