TP-Link XN020-G3 is an entry-level all-in-one XPON router built for Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) connections, combining a GPON/EPON ONT, a WiFi access point, and a basic switch in one device.
Built-In GPON Fiber Connectivity And WiFi
It connects directly to a fiber line through its dual-mode GPON/EPON (XPON) port with an SC/APC connector, compliant with ITU-T G.984/G.988 standards, supporting downstream speeds up to 2.488 Gbps and upstream speeds up to 1.244 Gbps from the ISP’s network. On the WiFi side, it offers single-band 300Mbps wireless N speeds using 2T2R MIMO technology, with two 5dBi external antennas for stable coverage enough for everyday browsing, streaming, and basic device connectivity.
Ports, Security And Remote Management
It includes 1 Gigabit LAN port for a single wired connection fewer than the XC220-G3v, which includes 4 LAN ports and VoIP support. Security features include WPA/WPA2 encryption, NAT and SPI firewall, MAC/URL filtering, and DoS protection. The XN020-G3 also supports TR-069, letting ISPs remotely configure and manage the device, and can be set up through the Aginet app or the web interface.
- Built-In GPON/EPON (XPON) ONT — Downstream up to 2.488 Gbps and upstream up to 1.244 Gbps.
- 300Mbps Wireless N WiFi — 2T2R MIMO with two 5dBi external antennas for stable coverage.
- 1 Gigabit LAN Port — Wired connection for a single device.
- WPA/WPA2 Security & SPI Firewall — NAT firewall, MAC/URL filtering, and DoS protection.
- TR-069 Remote Management — Lets ISPs remotely configure and manage the device.
This makes the XN020-G3 a good fit for smaller households or single-device setups that need a straightforward, no-frills fiber connection without VoIP calling or dual-band WiFi. Buyers who want VoIP support, dual-band WiFi, or more LAN ports should look at the XC220-G3v instead.
